Write a compare/contrast essay on one of the themes below. You should have brainstormed both subjects to better understand the similarities and differences. Revert back to your similarities/differences list. How are they alike? How are they different? What does all this mean to you? Remember to focus your essay on the most important similarities and differences you found.
Remember the format and structure of this paper. Refer back to your notes on writing compare and contrast essays. It doesn’t matter which way you organize it, but your paper MUST be organized. Remember to still use description and a strong narrative voice with which to write this paper.
Themes:
high school versus college
One fast food chain versus another fast food chain
One restaurant versus another restaurant
Original movie versus the sequel to the movie
One song’s lyric versus another song’s lyrics
***Important to remember: We have not discussion citation (documenting where we get our information from) in this class yet; however, if you use the Internet to get any information on the above topics (including the movie or song’s lyrics), you must write down all webpage titles on a separate sheet of paper and submit it with your draft (and final paper). If you use the Internet and fail to give me the piece of paper with the website’s name on it, your paper will be considered as plagiarized.
